Happy 2009

Happy New Year to one and all. It's a new year - time to try to start new habits. One of those is to connect better with those we love and care about. That includes this blog. Jana has posted before, but I have not, so here's to 2009 being the year this becomes a trend for both of us.

2008 is in the books and I have to say that I'm not all that sad to see it go. The year had its normal ups and down, but more surprises and uncertainty than we're used to. But as I sit here in my warm house, still gainfully employed with food to eat and clothes to wear, I must absolutely count my blessings and declare that my cup still runneth over. This is definitely a time to reflect and celebrate the good and learn from that which didn't exactly go our way.

2009 holds just as many challenges ahead - some of the probably even harder - but hopefully we'll have a little more runway to prepare for many of them. Also with each new year is new hope and opportunity to do better and steer those challenges into something positive.

There are many good times to remember from 2008 and I hope to capture some of them here over the next little while. And there are big things ahead in 2009 for the Jorgensen Family, so stay tuned.

Jorgen-who?

Hannah has lots of fun with her brothers. Here she's trying Ben's sun glasses on Noah. She is also wearing her favorite dress.

Ben learned about disguises recently at preschool. I walked in to pick him up, and all of the kids were wearing glasses and a moustache. None of the moms could guess whose kid was whose :)! See if you can guess who is wearing these disguises.

The Boys at Home

Here we are in our new apartment. On the fifth floor, two bedrooms and a large living area with the kitchen, dining room and family room in one space. We're having lots of fun together!

Mom's laundry helper found a comfy seat.

Noah has learned how to stand up by himself!

Noah is learning to feed himself. Somehow this little puff missed.

School Days

Here are some pictures from the beginning of school. Of course Hannah was thrilled to get her photo taken and get off to school.

Hannah, Ben and Noah sit on the couch in our first Minnesota apartment.

Ben did NOT want to be caught in his first-day-of-school photo with a smile. He tried his best to frown. This series of picures shows his reaction when I made him laugh, and he realized I got a happy picture.

We're in Minnesota!

Hannah and Ben liked the rides at the fair best.

Thankfully, Noah's ride was free.

We love peanut butter!

Noah is happy after breakfast.

The farm exhibits were some of our favorites at the Minnesota Zoo.

There were lots of tiger exhibits at this zoo -- and lots of indoor animals. We hear it gets pretty cold here :).

Our summer in Texas

Greetings from Minnesota

We didn't get to see many of you over the summer, so here are a few photos from Texas. On our next post we'll include some pictures in Minnesota. Enjoy!
